Hard Times (one-act)

“This is a memory book rather than one of hard fact and precise statistic….It is simply an attempt to get the story of the holocaust known as The Great Depression from an improvised battalion of survivors" -Studs Terkel

Based on Stud Terkel's book of the same name, Hard Times tells the story of the Great Depression through a woman's eyes. Shown through ballet and movement, the piece explores the complexities and challenges faced by a variety of women. Through triumph and failure, they share their heartwarming, and often comic stories of survival during one of the worst economic crises.

Performed October 2010 + 2012 The John Wells Video Studio at Carnegie Mellon University
